Many of us have heard of IOT- Internet of Things, but what about an internet of incarceration?
The Technological Incarceration Project is researching an advanced form of home detention, lightweight electronic sensors and Machine-learning algorithms (AI) to monitor offenders on a 24 hour basis.
The costs would be borne by the offender and his or her family, and not by the state according to the article. A concept that could work for individuals that had that resource, but not for many of the financially disadvantaged that I saw in prison.
